Is The Hills real or fake?

Posted by: The Hills Fan On: November 23, 2007 Comments: 0

Apparently Lauren and Heidi are at odds again. The question came up whether The Hills was accurately portraying reality or just a fictional television show. Apparently Heidi thinks it is merely entertainment and not real. Ms. Montag states that she really doesn’t have that much drama in her life and that normally she is drama-free, but admits that it is fun to watch.

Lauren Conrad has a difference of opinion, however. She states that there are tons of false rumors out there and that she can’t possibly respond to every rumor, but that this one she had to respond to stating that The Hills show was not fake and represents her life.

Apparently Montag thinks her “fiance” has also gotten a bad rap by appearing on the show calling him, “very ambitious, very smart and very crafty”. Hmmm..so he’s really not an ass, Heidi?Heidi realizes that The Hills can only take her so far and plans to work on her debut album in February. Spencer, Heidi’s fiance, must be good for something because he put Heidi in touch with Grammy Award-winning music producer David Foster who will produce Heidi’s album. She’s had some bad luck recently with her new found talent, however. She sang one her own songs called “Higher” at a Las Vegas club on her 21st Birthday and she was booed. She chalks it up to be an unfamiliar song and not one that club goers can shake their booties to. She did say that not everyone booed and tha many people said that they loved it and wanted to buy her CD.

Spencer is apparently Heidi’s #1 fan claiming she is going to be the biggest pop star in the world. Gag!

Heidi also has her sights set on bigger things wanting to follow in the footsteps of American Idol’s Jennifer Hudson. She want to win an Oscar someday.

The Hills: With This Ring…

The show opens up with Heidi and Spencer talking about their wedding. Spencer wants to elope to Cabo. She wants it in a church. Spencer wants to throw his hands up in the air and tells her that “It is on you. You decide. Just tell me what day to be there. I’ll wear a suit.” Heidi replies with “Great!” in a sarcastic tone. I don’t know how she can continue to put up with him.

We’re at the gym with Audrina, Lauren, and Whitney. They are working out with trainer, Jarett. They invite Jarett to Big Wangs or Big Waynes. I don’t know which one. Lauren gives Whitney a look about Jarett. Whitney has no expectations when it comes to guys. Lauren wants to get Whitney back in the game - the dating game that is.

We’re at Westminster Presbyterian Church in LA and Spencer and Heidi are checking it out to see if they want to get married there. First impressions are that it is beautiful. Spencer sings “here comes the bride…”. Heidi comments on how pretty it is - the high ceilings and stained glass. They speak with one of the pastors and she tells them about their wedding package which begins with pre-marital counseling which is required. They need to book 6 months out and she recommended a wedding co-ordinator. Spencer sits down in a pew and has this weird look on his face. I can’t tell if he is being sarcastic or what, but he is sportin’ this huge joker’s smile. He’s just weird.

We’re at Lauren and Audrina’s apartment and Whitney is getting ready with the girls for her “date” with Jarett. Lauren checks out Whitney’s outfit asking her if she realizes that they are going to a sports bar. Apparently, the outfit is some type of peach/pink lingerie number with tights and moccason’s? Whitney is a little weird in the fashion department, but what do I know. That’s her job. Lauren sorta goes through Whitney’s makeup bag stating she’s “au naturelle”. Audrina asks her about going through Whitney’s bag and Lauren gets a “deer in headlights look” on her face and quickly tosses the bag aside on the bed while saying “no, I was just looooking.” It was a funny moment. Audrina said Whitney looks cute for Jarett. I think she looks hideous in that get up.

Ok, they are at Big Wangs - I confirmed it. They are drinking some beers. Jarett is there and he says “What’s up Whitney?” totally singeling her out.  Audrina and Lauren whisper how cute they are together. Lauren gives Whit two thumbs up. Jarett asks Whitney what she is doing for the weekend and kinda asks her out. Lauren and Audrina clink glasses.

We’re at Runyon Canyon with Jarett and Whit. They are hiking and look at the Hollywood sign. He is making her do jumping jacks. I guess he is training her and they are not really in a date. She’s now punching and he states she throws a mean punch and how he wouldn’t want to mess with her. Yeah right - he is really flattering her. He asks her out to get drinks at night - yep, it will be a date. Cute!

We’re at Heidi and Spencer’s apartment and she is flipping through magazines stating she definitely wants to wear a crown - because ya know, Heidi - that is the kind of princess you are - yeah right! Spencer comments on Heidi’s buying of Bride Magazines and seems a bit annoyed although he told her he wasn’t. He is pretty peculiar that Spencer. He just wonders why she needs the magazines - duh Spencer!

At the Teen Vogue Offices, Whit and Lauren discuss Jarett. She doesn’t even want to think about it b/c it just a first date. Lauren had to burst her bubble stating first dates can be really uncomfortable. Way to be positive, Lauren.

We’re out with Jarett and Whitney on their date as they visit La Cantina for drinks. He tells her she is dressed beautifully. She comment she doesn’t go to Hollywood much, but only goes and dances. He wants to go dancing with her since she mentions it. He interrupts her and asks her what her sign is. She doesn’t know. He seems a bit hyperactive. She asks him what his dream is - he just wants to train.  He talks pretty fast. She asks him how he is able to date being as busy as he is. He just got out of a relationship and is just having fun. Hmmm. Whitney doesn’t want to be attached and enjoy herself - not sure if that is true or not.

Back to Heidi and Spencers apartment - he welcomes her home and calls her sweetheart. He asks how work was and she responds with long, boring, and tired. He tells her she can sleep in the car as they are going on an adventure - he packed for her. They are going to Las Vegas to get married according to Spencer. Heidi’s face - poor girl - it looks like her dreams are going up in the flames right before her eyes.  She asks him if he already paid for it and really hopes that he is kidding. She doesn’t want to elope. He just wants to get married because it just about them. Heidi wants her family there - it means a lot to her. She doesn’t understand how he doesn’t get it or care about her feelings. She’s sick of the surprises and is sick of the fighting about wedding planning. She puts her ring on the books and says “maybe we should just think about it longer” as she goes into the other room. He holds the ring looking at it and gets up and walks out taking a suitcase with him.

At Bolthouse with Heidi and Kimberly, event coordinator, Heidi tells her about her fight with Spencer. Kimberly tries to listen and give advice. She suggests they put everything out on the table and says “sorry” with no I’m in front of it. I hate when people do that - it sounds so impersonal.

Lauren and Whitney are at lunch. Whit is sharing her first date experience with her stating she was pretty comfortable. They talk about what he was wearing - she wans’t into his shoes. She got the friend vibe from him. They ended the date with “no kissing”. Whitney has no rule for first date kissing and asks Lauren how that works if someone has a no kissing rule. Lauren tells her to turn her head to the side. Whitney seems pretty green to this whole dating thing. I guess we don’t know a lot about Whitney as she likes to keep her private life private. It is nice to see her out and about showing us some personal stuff.

Back to Heidi and Spencer - she is unpacking take out or groceries or something. Spencer comes in and she asks where she slept last night. He said at his parents house. He gives her red roses and she just puts them on the counter. He wants to call a truce. She wants him to apologize - which he does. She rehashes last night and couldn’t believe he left. He gives her the ring back  so she can wear it - as all he wants to do is marry her.

Next time on the The Hills - Enter Spencer’s sister and she is going off on Lauren about hating Spencer stating she hates Lauren too. UGH! More drama! Justin Bobby was over at the bar kissing some random girl and Audrina catches them. Oops! She confronts them - good for her - and she is seen pushing the girl and saying that she’s done. She’s done that alot though so we shall see if she really is done. In the last scene she is hugging him stating that she can’t see or talk to him as that is the only way she can move on. We’ll see, Audrina!

The Hills: Forgive and Forget

Lisa Love gives Whitney and Lauren an event to go to - celebrating the power of the vote. They are going to cover it for Teen Vogue. Brent Bolthouse, Heidi’s boss, is on the guest list. Whitney wonders if Heidi will be there. “Well see when we get there and we’ll handle the situation accordingly,” Whitney said. We already know Heidi will be there and a confrontation erupts. I can’t wait!

At the Bolthouse Office, Heidi says hi to Kimberly, the new event coordinator. They discuss the event and Kimberly and Heidi will be going together. Now we are at “Declare Yourself Event” and we get to see cameras flashing and Justin Timberlake. Whitney and Heidi waltz in loving the fact that they don’t have to work and can just have fun. They couldn’t believe Lisa told them to enjoy themselves. And..in goes Heidi.

Lauren and Whitney go outside just as Heidi and Kimberly walk in. Whitney asks where Audrina is and why she didn’t come. Lauren states b/c they only have 2 tickets and she’s on a date with Justin Bobby.

We see them (Audrina and Justin Bobby) on JB’s motorcycle and they go sit down for dinner or drinks at a bar. She states she’s not a receptionist anymore and she has her own cubicle and more responsibilty. She gets to work with Sean Kingston tomorrow and they will go to Jimmy Kimmel. He interrupts her conversation with a loud annoying rude burp. He then changes the subject about whether she got his phone calls. She asked if he left any messages. He states “If I said I’d call you, I’ll call you.” Then he burps loud again. Annoying.

Well, Lauren sees Heidi and Heidi tells Kimberly about “that girl” I told you about is standing right over there. Heidi goes up to her and says “hi”. Whitney introduces herself to Kimberly. Awkward. Lauren states, “If you want to apologize to me, I’ll talk to you.” Lauren gets on her about Spencer spreading the rumors and Heidi states she didn’t do anything wrong. Lauren calls her a “bad person”. Heidi leaves saying “Ok, so have a great night.” Whitney takes a deep breath in.

Back at Audrina and Lauren’s pad, they are both sitting on the couch. Audrina is sporting a cute hat and offers Lauren some veggies. She asks about Lauren’s night and she tells her the scoop on Heidi. Lauren sounds sick. She states Heidi tries to act normal. Audrina listens and takes Lauren’s side. Lauren rolls her eyes and brings up Audrina working with Shawn Kingston tonight.

We are at the Jimmy Kimmel live rehearsal and we get to see Audrina doing her thing. Sean sings on stage and Audrina is smiling and singing a little bit. Audrina talks about going out with Justin Bobby tonight and Chiara, her co-worker, tells her there is no way due to their job and not having enough time. She’s going to call him tomorrow.

Back at Teen Vogue, Whitney talks about the night before and Lauren starts going on about Heidi when Lauren gets an IM (Instant Message) from Heidi. “She’s on my freakin’ IM”. Heidi wants to meet up and talk. Lauren responds with “what do you want to talk about?” Heidi wants to put everything behind them and asks when they can meet. Lauren thinks (Whitney can’t stand it and keeps asking what is going on). Lauren says something about meeting her at her apartment. Whitney thinks she should just get it over with.

Back at Jimmy Kimmel Live backstage. Audrina and Chiara are with Sean telling him he rocked the house. They state that he’s a big teddy bear and they talk about getting his autograph on his CD.

We’re at Heidi and Spencer’s and he reads the i-chat on his computer between Heidi and Lauren. He’s acting like an ass again and doesn’t seem to like the fact that Heidi wants to work things out. “Be careful you’re heading into the Lion’s den”. He gives her a look like - I can’t believe you are going to work it out with her. Ahhh! I do not like him.

Now at Epic Records, we are with Audrina in her new space. Chiara is bringing her some yellow flowers and they are from Sean Kingston “It was great working with you. Thanks for all your hard work,” read the card. And here I thought they were from Justin Bobby. Yeah, he’s not thoughtful or sweet enough.

The part we’ve been waiting for. Heidi is at Lauren’s apartment and she brings her flowers - roses. Awww..nice gesture, but a little late in coming. She points out some thorns - kind of ironic. Heidi is very impressed at the place and how clean she is - Lauren said that Audrina makes her clean. Heidi is so sorry about how things went the other night. She swears on her life that she had nothing to do with the rumors. She claims she doesn’t know if Spencer did or not and that that has nothing to do with her. Lauren states that she believes that Heidi knows Spencer did it and doesn’t want to believe it. That she loves him so much that she wants to believe that he is good. Heidi keeps saying “he’s not bad. He’s not bad.” Lauren wishes she could know how bad it was. Heidi wishes they could be friends and had no idea it was happening. Lauren said she did nothing and it is just as bad. Lauren claims that Spencer hates her and Heidi states that he doesn’t. Heidi keeps saying “I’m so sorry.”  Lauren says “This is the person that went around and made calls and made an effort that people would hear these things about me. This is the person that you want to marry and spend the rest of your life with, and you have to live with that.” Heidi responds that she loves Spencer and that he is no angel. She claims she didn’t go there to fight with her. She states she is so sorry about everything. Then Lauren’s classic line is “I want to forgive you and I want to forget you.” Heidi responds with “yeah, well, it was great seeing you. The apartment looks great and I hope you have a great life. Have a great night, Lauren.” Lauren puts her head in her hand and looks down. Heidi drives off.

I guess people grow apart and move on. Nothing last forever. Everything changes.

Next time on the hills:

Spencer is singing “here comes the bride” as they walk down this huge aisle. They are talking to a wedding planner who offers a whole package - starting with premarital counseling - WOW, they need that. Whitney is asked out (finally we get to see her personal life). Spencer tells Heidi he wants to go to Las Vegas to get married. Heidi says that it means so much to her and that maybe they should just think about it. She puts her ring on the magazine in front of Spencer and walks out. Is this the “fake breakup” we’ve been hearing about - or is it real? I hope it is real.

The Hills: Young Hollywood

Posted by: The Hills Fan On: November 6, 2007 Comments: 0

Opening scene is Whitney, Lauren and their boss, Lisa, at the place Whitney chose for the Teen Vogue event. Lisa tells Lauren she is working backstage and Whitney is working the front of the house. She tells them that they are running the show tonight and she is counting on Whitney to make it a success - no screw ups. Wow, is she scary or what?

Next, we are at Bolthouse and Heidi gets roses for her 21st birthday from Spencer. Kimberly, the event coordinator, brings them in. Heid reads the card to her and said “we have to do something.” They decide on lunch. “You’re the greatest thing that has happened to me. To a hundred more birthdays together. Love Spencer” That was the gist of the card.

We are now out to lunch with Audrina and Chiara, and Epic intern. She’s talking about an unsigned band that Justin Bobby and her are going to see. Chiara asked her what her status with JB was and she didn’t really know.

Next we are out an LA food court where Heidi and Kimberly are having lunch. Heidi can’t believe it is her 21st b-day. Heidi thinks from 20-21 has been her pivotol year. Kimberly asked her what they are doing for her b-day. She questions that Heidi wants to just spend it with “just Spencer”. Heidi gives her some lame response about how it is just “about me and Spencer” and from the look on Kimberly’s face, she wasn’t buying it. Frankly, neither was I. Heidi looks down like she, too, wasn’t buying it. Lie to yourself - that will get you through.

Back at the teen Vogue event where Lauren and Whitney are setting up for the big event. They are holding the event at a place called Vibiana Church in LA. Lauren wants Whitney to let her know who is coming in using the “walkie”. They discuss the seating areas and Whitney expresses her nervousness about getting everyone seated on time. Looks like she is getting put in a pressure situation yet again. Will she hold up?  Will MTV edit this bad making us think she did horrible when she really didn’t?

Whitney is now getting advice about setting up the fashion show. The tricky thing is it isn’t assigned seating and she must seat about 390 people within 15 minutes “off the cuff”. Apparently Whitney has the front of the house AND the back of the house. Oh lord, I’m getting nervous for her. She gives Lauren instructions and she looks a bit frazzled. Lauren starts pulling girls in and Lisa goes outside and realizes that it is a bit backed up. She wants people to get a move on. The start has been pushed back a half an hour. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing for Whitney.

Next we catch up with Justin Bobby and Audrina. Justin looks a bit worn and tired. Audrina wants to get their CD so she can take it into Epic. Justin just nods his head. Audrina meets the band outside and asks them if they are signed. She drops that she works for Epic and his face lights up. The band invites them to an afterparty. Way to drop Epic, Audrina!

Spencer is all dressed up without a tie and he surprises Heidi with a birthday gift. She said “you shouldn’t have done this. I’m so mad at you.” Yeah right. It is a bag - a BIG BAG - with a bling shoulder strap. He asks her “what’s that face?” She said, “what face” and he asks her if she needs a little bit more wine. He’s an ass, isn’t he?

Back at the Teen Vogue event and people are still getting their pic taken on the red carpet. The event is still empty. The doors are opening while Whitney asks Lisa “are you good?” Lisa keeps asking “where are the seaters?” over and over again. Lisa and Whitney start seeting people. Lauren is trying to get ahold of Whitney on the walkie and Whitney is not hearing her. She keeps seating people and Lauren discovers that Whitney’s earpiece is out. She gets people seated and gets a congratulations from some lady who was telling her the ropes earlier on. They are ready to go…uh, sorta.

Someone comes in and says they are bringing Hillary Duff in - that they are NOT ready to go. Lauren meanwhile is backstage telling everyone they ARE ready to go. Whitney is trying to get her on the walkie and apparently Lauren can’t hear her - or is this just editing done to make us believe Lauren can’t hear her? We’ll find out after the break.

We are back at the Vibiana Church, Lauren hears Whitney and they hault the show until Hillary is seated. The show starts and goes without a hitch. We get to see to pretty freaky looking models with some freaky looking clothes on. I’m not digging those styles AT ALL. Everyone claps as the show ends. I guess that means success. Good job Whitney!

We are now at One Sunset where Audrina was supposed to meet up with the unsigned, unknown band called The Ruse. Justin Bobby leaves Audrina stating “I’ll be back.” Does that mean, after I hook up with another chick? Oh, he’s back. One of the band members talks to another guy stating “She’s great. I just…I don’t know what’s going on with that guy over there.” I guess he can’t figure out what Justin Bobby is to Audrina either. Really, what does she see in him? Ugh!

The guy actually asked Justin Bobby “What’s the sitch with Audrina over there? You guys pretty hot and heavy?” Wow, this guy has the balls. Justin responds with “we’re cool. She’s a good girl. She’s a good person.” The guys asks, “is she like, available to be asked out?” Wow, more balls…He keeps saying “She’s pretty good” What does that mean, Justin Bobby? Poor guy just sat there not knowing what to think or say. Audrina needs a good guy.

Back at the Vibiana Church, Lisa is smiling and laughing. Whitney got lots of kudos about the show. I’m happy for her.

Back to Heidi’s b-day “party” with Spencer. She talks about last year with all the drama and that this year is what she wants - to be with the man she loves. Gag! Spencer is seen texting on his cell phone while Heidi sits there drinking some wine. She looks around looking a bit uncomfortable like she is not getting attention.

Next time on The Hills:

Lauren and Whitney are sent on an assignment and apparently it is where Heidi is. The sparks fly between Lauren and Heidi and Lauren says “if you apologize to me, I’ll talk to you.” Hmmm..

Then Justin Bobby asks Audrina if she got his phone call. She asked “did you leave a message.” Apparently he is telling her he’ll call and perhaps doesn’t?

Lauren and Heidi finally have their showdown in Lauren’s apartment. Heidi states “she wishes she could take it back. She wishes none of this had happened.” Lauren said she wishes she could forgive her and FORGET HER! WOW! Bold statement there, Lauren. Can’t wait for next week.
