Opening scene is Whitney, Lauren and their boss, Lisa, at the place Whitney chose for the Teen Vogue event. Lisa tells Lauren she is working backstage and Whitney is working the front of the house. She tells them that they are running the show tonight and she is counting on Whitney to make it a success - no screw ups. Wow, is she scary or what?
Next, we are at Bolthouse and Heidi gets roses for her 21st birthday from Spencer. Kimberly, the event coordinator, brings them in. Heid reads the card to her and said “we have to do something.” They decide on lunch. “You’re the greatest thing that has happened to me. To a hundred more birthdays together. Love Spencer” That was the gist of the card.
We are now out to lunch with Audrina and Chiara, and Epic intern. She’s talking about an unsigned band that Justin Bobby and her are going to see. Chiara asked her what her status with JB was and she didn’t really know.
Next we are out an LA food court where Heidi and Kimberly are having lunch. Heidi can’t believe it is her 21st b-day. Heidi thinks from 20-21 has been her pivotol year. Kimberly asked her what they are doing for her b-day. She questions that Heidi wants to just spend it with “just Spencer”. Heidi gives her some lame response about how it is just “about me and Spencer” and from the look on Kimberly’s face, she wasn’t buying it. Frankly, neither was I. Heidi looks down like she, too, wasn’t buying it. Lie to yourself - that will get you through.
Back at the teen Vogue event where Lauren and Whitney are setting up for the big event. They are holding the event at a place called Vibiana Church in LA. Lauren wants Whitney to let her know who is coming in using the “walkie”. They discuss the seating areas and Whitney expresses her nervousness about getting everyone seated on time. Looks like she is getting put in a pressure situation yet again. Will she hold up? Will MTV edit this bad making us think she did horrible when she really didn’t?
Whitney is now getting advice about setting up the fashion show. The tricky thing is it isn’t assigned seating and she must seat about 390 people within 15 minutes “off the cuff”. Apparently Whitney has the front of the house AND the back of the house. Oh lord, I’m getting nervous for her. She gives Lauren instructions and she looks a bit frazzled. Lauren starts pulling girls in and Lisa goes outside and realizes that it is a bit backed up. She wants people to get a move on. The start has been pushed back a half an hour. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing for Whitney.
Next we catch up with Justin Bobby and Audrina. Justin looks a bit worn and tired. Audrina wants to get their CD so she can take it into Epic. Justin just nods his head. Audrina meets the band outside and asks them if they are signed. She drops that she works for Epic and his face lights up. The band invites them to an afterparty. Way to drop Epic, Audrina!
Spencer is all dressed up without a tie and he surprises Heidi with a birthday gift. She said “you shouldn’t have done this. I’m so mad at you.” Yeah right. It is a bag - a BIG BAG - with a bling shoulder strap. He asks her “what’s that face?” She said, “what face” and he asks her if she needs a little bit more wine. He’s an ass, isn’t he?
Back at the Teen Vogue event and people are still getting their pic taken on the red carpet. The event is still empty. The doors are opening while Whitney asks Lisa “are you good?” Lisa keeps asking “where are the seaters?” over and over again. Lisa and Whitney start seeting people. Lauren is trying to get ahold of Whitney on the walkie and Whitney is not hearing her. She keeps seating people and Lauren discovers that Whitney’s earpiece is out. She gets people seated and gets a congratulations from some lady who was telling her the ropes earlier on. They are ready to go…uh, sorta.
Someone comes in and says they are bringing Hillary Duff in - that they are NOT ready to go. Lauren meanwhile is backstage telling everyone they ARE ready to go. Whitney is trying to get her on the walkie and apparently Lauren can’t hear her - or is this just editing done to make us believe Lauren can’t hear her? We’ll find out after the break.
We are back at the Vibiana Church, Lauren hears Whitney and they hault the show until Hillary is seated. The show starts and goes without a hitch. We get to see to pretty freaky looking models with some freaky looking clothes on. I’m not digging those styles AT ALL. Everyone claps as the show ends. I guess that means success. Good job Whitney!
We are now at One Sunset where Audrina was supposed to meet up with the unsigned, unknown band called The Ruse. Justin Bobby leaves Audrina stating “I’ll be back.” Does that mean, after I hook up with another chick? Oh, he’s back. One of the band members talks to another guy stating “She’s great. I just…I don’t know what’s going on with that guy over there.” I guess he can’t figure out what Justin Bobby is to Audrina either. Really, what does she see in him? Ugh!
The guy actually asked Justin Bobby “What’s the sitch with Audrina over there? You guys pretty hot and heavy?” Wow, this guy has the balls. Justin responds with “we’re cool. She’s a good girl. She’s a good person.” The guys asks, “is she like, available to be asked out?” Wow, more balls…He keeps saying “She’s pretty good” What does that mean, Justin Bobby? Poor guy just sat there not knowing what to think or say. Audrina needs a good guy.
Back at the Vibiana Church, Lisa is smiling and laughing. Whitney got lots of kudos about the show. I’m happy for her.
Back to Heidi’s b-day “party” with Spencer. She talks about last year with all the drama and that this year is what she wants - to be with the man she loves. Gag! Spencer is seen texting on his cell phone while Heidi sits there drinking some wine. She looks around looking a bit uncomfortable like she is not getting attention.
Next time on The Hills:
Lauren and Whitney are sent on an assignment and apparently it is where Heidi is. The sparks fly between Lauren and Heidi and Lauren says “if you apologize to me, I’ll talk to you.” Hmmm..
Then Justin Bobby asks Audrina if she got his phone call. She asked “did you leave a message.” Apparently he is telling her he’ll call and perhaps doesn’t?
Lauren and Heidi finally have their showdown in Lauren’s apartment. Heidi states “she wishes she could take it back. She wishes none of this had happened.” Lauren said she wishes she could forgive her and FORGET HER! WOW! Bold statement there, Lauren. Can’t wait for next week.
